Ray L. Cox, Jr. has been licensed to practice law since 1989, and is currently the sole shareholder in the Law Firm of Ray L. Cox Jr., P.C. His practice consists primarily of Property Tax Litigation, Probate Law and Alternative Dispute Resolution. Ray is also a Certified Public Accountant, having been licensed in 1985. Since 1997, he has served as Adjunct Professor of Business Law in the Masters Program at Houston Baptist University, and from 2006 to 2008, he served as Associate Municipal Judge for the City of Houston. Ray received degrees in Accounting and Management from Houston Baptist University in 1981, and in 1988 he received his Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from South Texas College of Law.
Ray is a member of the Real Property, Trust & Estate and Alternative Dispute Resolution sections of the American Bar Association, the Real Estate, Probate & Trust and Alternative Dispute Resolution sections of the State Bar of Texas and the Securities Litigation & Arbitration section of the Houston Bar Association. He is also a member of the College of the State Bar of Texas, the Christian Legal Society, the Texas Association of Property Tax Professionals, and the Texas Society of CPA's.
Ray is a past member of the Board of Alumni and Board of Trustees of Houston Baptist University. Ray also serves on the Finance Committee of the Harris County Republican Party. Ray and his wife, Barbara, have twin sons, Colton and Tyler. Ray and his family are members of Second Baptist Church, Houston.
